“Alright then.” After failing to persuade him further, the teacher said, “Come over to get the key.”
Adonis took the key and walked straight towards the cage that held the level nine fallen beastman. The level nine fallen beastman was a mutated variety of gorilla, with eyes like copper bells and a massive body covered in black fur, huffing and puffing.
Even sitting, the fallen beastman was two meters tall, and when he stood up straight after coming out of the cage, he was at least five meters tall. Adonis felt small in front of him.
The classmates below were seeing the level nine fallen beastman for the first time and were all excitedly watching the scene unfold.
Anqiluo shouted, “Adonis—go for it!”
Adonis didn’t turn back but waved his hand in Anqiluo’s direction.
The level nine fallen beastman thought it was a provocation and roared angrily, reaching out to grab Adonis.
Adonis stepped back a few paces to dodge the attack, while the ground had already been smashed into two craters by the fallen beastman’s strikes.
A flash of white light enveloped Adonis as he transformed into his beast form; the three-meter-long white tiger still seemed a tad lacking in front of the level nine fallen beastman.
Gasps erupted from the audience below.
Adonis let out a tiger’s roar, his dark green tiger eyes staring down the fallen beastman, his aura fully unleashed. The fallen beastman felt a tremor deep in his soul and unconsciously took two steps back.
After retreating, he looked around in confusion, as if he didn’t understand why he felt that way.
“Roar—!” Adonis bared his sharp teeth, all his muscles tense and ready to fight at any moment.
“Boom!” No one expected that with just one roar, the level nine fallen beastman would kneel.
He truly knelt, his knees hitting the ground with a painful sound.
The fallen beastman clutched his chest, tears welling in his eyes as he looked at his abdomen.
Adonis drove the level nine fallen beastman back into the cage and locked it up before reverting to human form and handing the key back.
Adonis said, “Teacher, he seemed to be pregnant. He surrendered voluntarily because he feared for the child’s safety.”
The teacher sighed, “Such is the greatness of maternal love.”
The classmates watching were baffled by this development; Adonis won without even touching the beastman?
The teachers deliberated over what level to assign Adonis.
On the surface, Adonis seemed indifferent, but inside he felt quite speechless; he initially wanted to make a stunning debut, yet it turned out to be mere bluster.
The teacher smiled and announced, “Adonis O’Brien, your physical quality is rated at nine stars, and your attack skills at five stars, giving you an overall star level of seven stars. Congratulations.”
Adonis: “……” Not very happy, thanks.
After this battle, although Adonis did not attain nine stars, his ability to make the level nine fallen beastman kneel in submission just by his aura became a hot topic.
Adonis successfully became a celebrity in the beastman academy. Those who previously thought he and Anqiluo were mismatched began to change their minds; one had talent while the other had looks—they were clearly perfect for each other.
Adonis and Anqiluo watched as Yalin narrowly defeated the level six fallen beastman. The teacher combined the practical results with the six-star physique, and Yalin successfully raised his overall star level to six stars.
For male beastmen, the combined star level isn’t just for show; it plays a significant role in determining their position after graduation in the military. Only those with at least seven stars can directly become officers, while those with lower star levels must start as soldiers and gradually rise through hunting fallen beastmen.
Yalin came off the stage, looking somewhat disheveled, but couldn’t hide the smile on his face.
“Boss, thanks to you, I’ll be leveling up.”
Adonis replied, “I remember you didn’t lift a finger in the Dark Forest.” He could have taken out the fallen beastman with just a few slaps.
Yalin said, “Even though I didn’t fight, I was watching. I memorized the angles you struck from and the way you dodged. If I could level up just from a bit of observation, wouldn’t I have a chance to break through to seven stars if I studied seriously? Boss! I love you too much.” The more Yalin spoke, the more excited he became, almost ready to pounce on Adonis to kiss him.
Adonis stretched out a hand to stop him, “Stop, I have a boyfriend. Please keep a proper distance from me.”
Anqiluo chuckled at their antics, “Okay, let’s go get something to eat. We can go home in the afternoon.”
Yalin straightened up and asked, “Boss, where will you stay during the break?”
Adonis was an orphan without a home; he used to go back to the orphanage, but recently there had been a shortage of beds. Now that he was of age, he felt uncomfortable fighting for a bed with the children.
“What do you mean?” Anqiluo asked, “Adonis, do you have no place to stay?”
Adonis nodded, “Buying a house requires at least a thousand fallen beast teeth. I only have five hundred now.” He had underestimated the cost and thought five hundred would be enough.
“What will you do during the break? There’s more than a month left.” Anqiluo expressed concern.
“Boss, why not come to my house? It’s just small without a guest room; you’ll have to squeeze in a bed with me.” Yalin suggested.
“That won’t do at all,” Anqiluo immediately rejected the idea for Adonis. Even though Yalin was a male beastman, Anqiluo didn’t want Adonis to share a bed with anyone else.
“Adonis, come to my house. I have more rooms, and it’s just me at home; it’ll be really convenient,” Anqiluo said, blushing. He didn’t take the time to consider whether he was being too proactive.
“That’s a good idea! Boss, go stay at your sister-in-law’s house!” Yalin exclaimed excitedly.
Adonis hesitated. “Is that alright? We’re not even married yet…”
“What do you mean it’s not alright! Haven’t we been living together these past few days? I know you’re a gentleman and wouldn’t do anything to hurt me. Adonis, I believe in you.” Anqiluo shook Adonis’s hand and urged, “Just agree.”
Adonis felt a rush of heat flood his body, and he quickly recited a calming mantra, thinking that his partner really thinks highly of him. It doesn’t matter enduring a few days in the dormitory, but how could he not act on shared space every day?
“……Okay.”
Adonis’s hesitation only confirmed Anqiluo’s belief that he was a good person.
He truly felt fortunate to meet such an excellent male beastman as Adonis.
Yalin, standing beside them, raised his eyebrows and sighed, “Such is life! At just twenty years old, the boss has already sweetly cohabited with his sister-in-law, while I’m still a lonely single dog with no one to love me. How unfair! The boss has been given doors and windows, even a roof, while I’m left without even a door or window. What a miserable fate.”
